OUR STORY
A Legacy of Craftsmanship & Family Values
Founded in 1988 by Jim and Tilly Hurlburt as Mr. Sandman Mobile Sandblasting, our family business began with a simple passion: delivering quality craftsmanship and helping homeowners protect their log home investments. In 2006, as our capabilities evolved, we rebranded to Heritage Wood Restoration—reflecting an expanded focus on complete log home restoration, specialty surface care, and long-term timber protection while keeping our founding family values at the core.
That commitment runs deep. Paul Hurlburt began working alongside his father at just 14 years old, dedicating himself from an early age to mastering every step of the restoration process, from media blasting and surface preparation to precision sealants and chinking. Over the years, he gained unmatched hands-on expertise while building strong, trusted relationships throughout the log home industry.
That early foundation set the stage for our company's next chapter. Today, Paul and his wife, Terri, lead Heritage Wood Restoration, continuing the legacy established by Jim and Tilly while bringing their own dedication, modern techniques, and unwavering commitment to quality to every project we undertake.
